artfull is currently funding eleven Exemplar projects across Scotland with projects taking place in Aberdeenshire, Dundee, Edinburgh and the Lothians, Fife, Glasgow, Perth, North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and Stirling.

The projects are working with people across Scotland: from a Dance Base project with pre-school children in communities around Edinburgh; to Mindspace’s visual arts project across rural locations in Aberdeenshire; and Tricky Hat Productions’ work with Out of the Dark Theatre Company in West Fife, creating a drama and mental health project with people aged 50+ who have experienced mental health problems. The projects encompass a range of artforms: creative writing, dance, drama, film, storytelling and visual arts. Children, young people, adults and older people are all involved in different initiatives and participants range from those recovering from mental ill health and others with enduring mental health problems, to innovative projects designed to support preventative and wellbeing models of working.

As part of the programme, a Peer Learning Network has been established, designed to create an active network focusing on mutual learning, evaluation and continuing creative and professional development in the field of arts in relation to mental health and wellbeing. A report will be published of the Exemplar Project and Peer Learning Network Programme outcomes in March 2008.
